In a sentence that most people would never imagine themselves uttering, the following true, so no double takes are necessary: DeAndre Jordan, NBA star, was cast by insurance company State Farm, to dress in drag in a set of humorous advertisements, along with Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Kevin Love, and Kevin Garnett.
The well-known insurance company aired the set of ads in which DeAndre Jordan dresses in drag, and named the collective set, “The Hoopers,” a follow up to State Farm’s “Born to Assist” ads, and intended to be a funny, family-oriented series. These amusing ads debuted on Christmas and is State Farm’s latest set of ads to get viewers to buy insurance.
NBA fans everywhere were highly amused, making the insurance company’s new ad a success. Frank Isola from Twitter (@FisolaNYND) said that “DeAndre Jordan in this State Farm commercial looks like a cast member from ‘Basketball Wives, L.A.’” in an amusing tweet, that along with others, shared in fans’ apparent amusement of DeAndre Jordan—beard and all—dressing up as a long-locked women with flowing blonde hair and no small amount of hilarious circumstances.
