JJ Watt Is The Real MVP

In part of USA’s ‘NFL Characters Unite’ series, defensive end JJ Watt of the Houston Texans meets a young fan who’s had troubles at school with a bully. Billy tells JJ how he loves football but is picked on at school and is told he’s too skinny to play football. JJ explains to Billy that in high school, some people had told him that he was too small and too slow, and how it made him work harder each day. The highest paid DE in the NFL takes Billy to the YMCA where he helps him join a flag football team where he quickly adapts to his team and is able to play the sport he loves. The YMCA presents Billy with a lifetime membership. JJ also gives Billy a signed pair of his game-worn cleats.

With all the bad news surrounding the NFL it’s good to see some players step up and make a difference in their communities and the lives of some of their biggest fans. Lately in the media, NFL players are being criticized for the actions of a select few individuals who are shedding negative energy on the rest of the league.
